Asa-banana diet is a morning banana diet and it is a famous Japanese diet created by a husband and wife. Sumiko Watanabe is a pharmacist and preventive medicine expert in Osaka, who created this diet for her husband. With this diet, he lost 37 pounds.

This is what you should and shouldn’t consume during the banana diet.

Consume banana for breakfast

After you wake up, drink a glass of water right away. The water should be at room temperature.

Your breakfast should consist of one banana. You can eat more than one, but you shouldn’t overeat.

Consume only unfrozen, raw and uncooked bananas.

If after 15-30 minutes you still feel hungry, eat something else, which has 200 calories or less.

 Lunch and dinner

You need to have dinner by 8 p.m. it is better to eat dinner at 6 p.m, but you can start with 8 p.m and slowly shorten the time of the last meal.

There are no clear limits on the type or the amount of food you can consume for lunch or dinner. However, it is better to avoid fried food or junk food, because it contributes a lot to losing weight. Having dessert after the meals is the only thing that is not allowed.

You should eat till you feel satisfied, but not full or stuffed. In Japan, this is called 80% full. You will recognize this feeling in time.

Drink only water

You are allowed to drink only water, mineral or filtered. It should be at room temperature and consumed in small sips.

Afternoon snack

If you desire something sweet, you can have a cookie or a piece of chocolate by 3 p.m. Also, if you want something salty, eat some popcorn, but be careful for excess fat. 

 Early to bed

It is better to go to bed by midnight, or even earlier.

Make an effort to have an at least four-hour period between the last meal and going to bed.

Exercise only if you want to

Do the things that are the least stressful for you. Exercising is allowed; either it is just walking or a hard workout.
